Title: Ferric Citrate
Post by: Tío Riñon on October 16, 2014, 04:56:01 AM
Recently read the following article:

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/07/140724171755.htm

Has anyone tried this product and noticed improvement in their phosphorous levels and/or hemoglobin?  Any side effects or other problems?

What is the approximate cost?

Thanks.

Very interesting.  I'm going to send this article to my Neph.

Thanks!

My neph had me take iron supplements twice a day for a year or two before I started dialysis. I don't remember the form of iron. I don't have the bottle anymore and can't remember it was. I was only on dialysis for six months before transplant, but I never needed to use epo. I started using phosphorus binders a few months before starting dialysis, but not as many as I've seen some of you talking about using, even though I did eat "bad" things regularly.
