Title: Mental Evaluation

I was wondering if anyone else who has or is on SSDI, had to go for a mental evaluation.  I applied for SSDI in May and received a letter stating I had to go for a mental evaluation.  I'm not sure what my mental state has to do with my renal function.  Just wondering if anyone else had to do the same.

My neighbor who is not on dialysis applied for SSI and has to go through a mental eval too.  Maybe it is just standard.

I did not, but SSDI laws vary from state to state. In Florida ESRD is an automatic qualification
