Title: User Name in All Intro Titles
Post by: talker on March 30, 2014, 07:46:07 AM
Well now, how nice it would be to be able to find, follow and read Intros, and responders comments
by User Name.   :bandance;

Would be nice. if a Users Name were in each Title intro  :clap;

Not sure how many do the crazy type thing that I do, but I do enjoy looking at the Profile of whom ever did do a comment posting.  :yahoo;

Why, well the tracking as I call it, allows for a some what natural 'feeling tone' as opposed to 'just a note' by another person. Ha, words do get in the way of communicating some ideas.  :grouphug;

As I've mentioned else where, the Search function leaves a lot to be desired, not just in this forum, but most places a Search function is available. :banghead;

Drive me bonkers when even on my own blog, doing a search for a specific, nothing shows up. Yet I know it is there, buried, and yes, I don't easily find some material I want to reread, even though I did the original write.   :Kit n Stik;

Also I've noticed that real first names are often used. I learnt a long time ago that doing first names can lead to some confusion. So normally I will respond with the User Name.  :yahoo;

Ha , had to force myself doing the Smiley thing here. Will be mostly avoiding in future posts.

Hi talker,

You make a good point.

I have found that "Off-the-shelf" Web sites (blogs, forums, etc.) while convenient have their shortfalls.

May I make a suggestion for a work-around to search for the Intro of responders?

1)  Go to "Introduce Yourself" in the Introduction section.
2)  Click the "Started by" header.
3)  You've now alphabetized the complete list of intros according to the User name (1,2,3,A,B,C).

Sorry it's a bit convoluted, but it works all the same.

Thank you Zach.

Convoluted, Ha. Just like the story of my life, and of most other souls on this planet.
Each and every soul has an interesting story to tell.
Cant speak for any others here, but I'm reading all the posts as time permits.
Have to admire your stamina in living and doing your life's activities.
Ah sheesh, I'm running off at the mouth again.  :Kit n Stik;

Well, you have to remember that this site was started by one individual (Epoman) who has passed on.  So, now it is run by volunteers.  He would have made this site a lot more useful and stats all over the place if he was still alive.

I just see this site as useful especially to those just starting dialysis and have no idea what to expect.  We answer questions based on our own experiences and try to ease the fear of the unknown.

Fully understood.
Not being pushy, yet one never knows when, a routine request can yielded fantastic results

Keep the ideas coming.  It never hurts to ask.  May I ask what you did before you retired?

Good suggestions Zach, thanks.
Epoman did a great job setting up the forum and I think we "volunteers" have done pretty well the last few years.
This is the only website of it's kind. It's not perfect but I am proud of it.
A common mistake made by new members is not hitting HOME before searching.
If you are in a thread or on a post you may few to no results.

Field Service manager and electro / mechanical training. Did get to visit 36 state, with scant sight seeing. Ha

To keep from being bored after retiring, took up computer, which led to blogging, which led to Wordpress plus blogging.
Blogging allowed for talkling and voicing my interest on numerous subjects this amazing world presents for ones enjoyment.

Well now, slightly over one year has rolled on by.
          This amazing world still presents many awesome experiences.
           Gonna take full advantage of it,
           right down to the last drop,
            with rapidly approaching 89
            may not be many 'drops' left.
      Ha
            Be seeing ya .
     :beer1;
As I approach those numbers BEYOND 89, can only ask ' Any truth to that old saying 'Only the good die young' and why!
