Title: Hello from Oregon's beautiful northwest coast

I am huntersgaga and I am stage 4. Just 2 weeks ago I had fistula surgery in prep for dialysis. I am also type 2 diabetic.  This whole situation is a bit overwhelming for me..I also have a grandson who is in the autism spectrum (he just turned 4) that I have been taking of so his mom can work..unfortunately my doctor strongly advised that I stop and concentrate on me.  This is very difficult because I have always taken care of my family first and then myself but of course she is right.
I find myself trying to soak in all the info I can on kidney failure..so much in fact that I have to stop myself before overload sets in.
I live in a small town on the north Oregon coast and love it here. I came here on a greyhound bus 40 years ago from a large city and have been here ever since.
I have 2 wonderful kids..a new daughter in law and my adorable grandson.
My name??? (huntersgaga) ...well my grandson calls me "gaga".
I sure I will be here often with many questions so so long for now and as my mother would say "CARRY ON"

Welcome, huntersgaga! I remember the confusion I felt when I was diagnosed. Felt like the biggest wave in the world had just crashed over my head, never felt so overwhelmed in my life! there are caring people here, who can help you sort it all out, and who will listen when you just need to get somethong off your chest.

Hi Huntersgaga.  (LOVE the name)  I live in Spokane, WA.  We are not too far apart.  I have a niece in Lebanon, OR so I visit there.  I have dialyzed in Bend and Corvalas and ummm something like Albany?  I love OR and have stayed in Depot Bay. 

I'm so glad you found us and I also Love NEMO!!
