I am a 77 year old male.
In 2001 I was diagnosed (biopsy) with Membranous Glomerulonephritis. Proteinuria between 10 and 20 gm.
Cytoxan and steroids did not work. Two years of Cyclosporine worked, proteinuria went down to about 1gm, Creatinine to about 1.3.
I relapsed in 2012. Initially seemed that cyclosporine was working again, but in the past 6 amonths Creatinine has slowly increased to 2.0 and protein/creatinine ratio is between 3 and 4.
I am now taking 150mg of Cyclosporine per day.
Any suggestions? Should I add another immunosuppressant to the cyclosporine?
A friend of mine was similarly diagnosed 5 years ago. He's in remission now, he attributes his improvement to a gluten free diet. Any scientific base?
Thanks

Hello and unfortunately I don't have the answer...
because I suffer from MCTD and Systemic Lupus and chron. proliferative glomerulonephritis ...
but my biggest problem is "drug-intolerance" to all sorts of medicines and tablets etc...
and that has been my biggest problem so far...
... I wish you good luck and all the best from Kristina...
....let me know how you are getting on with the drug-intolerance... If I find out any news I shall let you know as well....
