I was diagnosed with ESRD last fall. After receiving a peritoneal catheter (and a temporary IJ), I began in-center dialysis on New Years Eve. Since then, I've been to school and my wife and I began PD at home one month ago. Our lives have obviously been forever changed and we're both quite concerned about what the future will hold for us. We're both retired so we have the time to visit all the doctors and clinics, but this certainly isn't how we expected to spend the first few years of our retirement. We're very thankful for the excellent staff at our local Fresenius clinic. They are all first class people who've truly made a difference in our lives. We look forward to learning more about how we can cope with this disease...just like all of you are, I'm sure.

:welcomesign; to IHD. Terrible blow to have kidney disease almost as soon as you retire, isn't it? Enjoy the site, and read, read, read.

Hey everyone ! I am new to this site but not new to kidney disease : :(. I have had kidney disease for 25 years and have had 3 transplant and on the list for another one . I currently doing home hemodialysis with pretty good outcomes so much better than going to a clinic . But I still have to say " I hate dialysis"
