Post by: Sugarlump on November 21, 2013, 10:54:34 AM
Has anybody traveled across Canada using the train and had managed to organise dialysis along the way????
Any advice welcomed.  :thx;

I've never dialyzed incenter in Canada, but I think it could be done. The first question is getting the treatments paid, I think the UK has a reciprocal agreement with Canada as part of the Commonwealth, assuming it does then it would just be a matter of setting up treatments in all or a combination of Vancouver, Lake Louise, Kamloops, Banff and Calgary.

My advice to anyone visiting multiple units as part of trip is to slow down. Plan a couple treatments in the most interesting destinations and then connect the cities with the train during your off days. I'd say you'd want to take at least two weeks/16 days.

The hard part is getting a confirmed time for treatments but some units will be able to accommodate advance scheduling so ask around in locations with more than one unit.
