Title: Bladder pain and Kidney 'trauma'
Post by: Wildrose on July 06, 2013, 07:17:36 PM
Last Christmas I had a UTI that developed into a kidney infection (pilenephritis or whatever its called) and landed me in the hospital for 3 days.
And now a few days ago on the Fourth of July one of my kids rammed into my right kidney with their head, it hurt enough to bring me to my knees and take my breathe away. The next day it felt fine. But last night I started noticing pain in my bladder and today I'm really noticing it. When I have to pee (yes I still retain my urine function, and am on hemo 2xs a week) my whole bladder just throbs... driving home earlier over the speed bumps really hurt. I have no idea if the trauma to the kidney and this pain today are related. I was also having what felt like menstrual cramps but I had a period recently and have never had bladder pain like this before. Not sure if I should wait it out... waiting it out last time (christmas time) ended me in the hospital. But only thing I could do is call my Dr and ask his opinion and we all know Drs love to be disturbed on the weekends.... and/or go into the emergency room which I'd hate to do if there was nothing wrong.

Any thoughts? I hate going into the ER for no reason but don't want to wait if something is wrong either.

My first thought is go in. I'd play on the safe side if possible. Take care

I agree with Boswife.  If persistent pain, go in.  Play it safe.  It may be nothing, but at least have peace of mind over it.  If your pain has subsided some, then it may wait till in the morning!  Hard to say.  Just let us know, ok?

God Bless,

Thank you both for your responses, I appreciate it. The pain has been somewhat tolerable (when I lay down and don't move much) so I haven't gone in, I still have no fever. But I am calling the Doctors office in the morning and will go from there. I'll let you know what they find (if anything).
