I've been trying to explain to my sisters how I'm feeling and its the hardest thing ever to express it. Firstly I can't believe how instantly you start to feel better. Then all of a sudden your head begins to clear and you didn't realise it was foggy in the first place I mentioned this to the doc too and presumed dialysis just took it out of you.but she explained thats the way kidney diseaseake you feel. It still feels a little bit like a dream. And definately feels tome like a lotto win..Thank you all for your kind messages :grouphug;
-
Wow! It sounds like a Lotto win too! :bandance; I'm so happy everything is going well for you. I relate to your comment about getting a wash, it's amazing how much better you feel after surgery when you get clean and have something to eat. Tea and toast is my primary comfort food, it's what my Mom always gave me when I was ill as a child. Some things stick with us forever. Have they got you doing laps around the hallway yet? Keep us posted on your progress. Have a big chunk of cheese for me when you're able - it doesn't matter what kind! ;D
-
Yay! Congrats on your new Kidney, So glad its all going well :clap;
-
:clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; CONGRATS! I know that feeling of not knowing how to feel. Think I was in shock! Now waiting for another kidney. WTG....

Glad to hear everything is going well! You really do feel better right away even with the surgery pain. Keep healing.

Hey everyone up and about the past few days. Feeling tired and cranky today didn't get much sleep last night the mind wouldn't. switch off. My creatnin is 47 today on the better side. There trying to get the potassium and phosphate up they crashed. Did you ever hear the like I was always in trouble for them being high. There doing all the right things to get them up.I noticed my fistula was quiet and the doctor checked it out its gone. So lets hope I never need another one..Thats all for now..
-
The hardest part is switching your mind. Now you have to drink enough, you need to eat potassium and phosphorus. It feels really weird at first.
I also hope you never need another fistula.
-
Congratulations!!! I hope you feel soooooo much better and are able to resume a "normal" life.
-
Raidym, I am very happy for you and hope your recovery is swift. There will be a few really bizarre things that will come your way, but it's all part of it. Congratulations!

Well its a month out and I have to say the past few days I'm feeling really good. The deep down soreness has gone the wound and muscles are still a little tender but happy the majority of pain has eased. All my visit and bloods have been good have to go back tomorrow. Blood pressure's still a little high and Haemoglobin seems to be dropping hopefully it will pick up. Getting back to eating foods I wasn't allowed before treated myself for the first while but starting to behave a bit now want to stay as healthy as I possibly can. Thank you everybody for the kind messages and sorry for the spelling mistakes in my previous messages I was on my phone and the morphine probably had something to do with it :shy; I just have to say everyone keep up your spirits because you never know when the call comes and even thought it's always on your mind when it comes it feels like its out of the blue. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all still waiting and hope your time comes sending you all hugs :grouphug;

Hey everyone hope your all keeping well. I was back for bloods on Wednesday and everything's doing good. My creatinine level is 36 and my nephrologist was very impressed. I'm doing really good and feeling great but when it's time to go and get my bloods done I get worked up. I'm just terrified he's gonna say sorry Mairead but it's rejecting. There's no reason for feeling this way as everything is going good. I suppose it's just part of getting over it cause it's not just the body that has to heal my mind has to come to terms with what I've been through. Well that's what I'm telling myself and just taking my time. I want to write a thank you to the donor family too but have no idea what to write words can never describe how grateful you are. So I'm taking my time there too. They told me at the hospital before I was discharged sometimes it takes months for people to be able to write and I should take my time.. Thanks again for all your kind message they mean a lot... :thx; :thx; :thx;
