Since I wasn't being responsible about taking my Calcium Acetate--aka Phoslo--to control my phosphorous (I was prescribed 4-5 pills/meal and hated consuming around 20-25 a day in addition to my other meds), my nurse suggested that I look into an oral version. I discussed the idea with my dietitian and she gave me samples of Phoslyra. I love it!!! :bow;
I just take a 20 ml gulp and I'm done. It tastes like cough syrup, but I don't mind. It is so much better than trying to swallow all those pills every time that I eat and risking the occasional "explosion" of the pill(s) in my throat.
Anyway, I was wondering if others have used this and had any side effects, thoughts, or suggestions. My sole issue is with portability and my dietitian said that she'll give me some small bottles to use to carry it around.
I wish all my meds were this palatable.

I take Renvela - two pills per meal. I hate taking big pills. >:(

This sounds good. I'll have to look into it. I have to bring ALL information to them they never have any new things. OMG that would mean READING up on new products.

Ehhhh.. cough syrup. That would take some getting used to. lol If you ever get tired of that, maybe you would like the Revela powder packs. One packet of powder disolved in some water with each meal. Done. I loved it, when I was on it. :bandance;
