She will be missed. She was so upbeat and fun! Truly sad to hear about this. So damn frustrating , this damn disease.
:'(

What a very sad day for all of here on IHD. I am so sorry to hear this.

Patsy Aurora Barker was a part of the admin team for the last 8 years. We got to meet at one of our IHD Las Vegas Meet-ups, a really lovely person. She lived in the British Virgin Islands but always felt nearby. She was very close with her daughter Sam, and 2 grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart.
We will miss you sweet friend. Rest in Peace dear Aurora. "Bajanne"

I don't want to read this --- I don't want to know this -- I don't want this to be happening. I am glad I got to meet her, but her online presence was powerful also. She was strong in her faith and lived it everyday. She would be the first one to rejoice that she is HOME and done with kidney failure. But, I adored her and will miss her sweet spirit. I was her Secret Santa this year and I made sure there were presents for Sam and her 2 boys also. They all loved each other so much.
I am so very sorry for everyone. I have another friend who is hovering between home on earth and the final Home. In the next day or two, he will be gone too. I ache for all who are losing loved ones. Especially, all who loved our Sister Bajanne.
-
Thank you for all of your years of superb service to IHD, Bajanne. There will never be another like you, dear girl. You made me and countless others feel like we had found a place where we would always belong.
-
My favorite phrase she used was "sending healing prayers". I thought her healing prayers had to be more powerful than anyones prayers. :pray;

I'm SO saddened to hear of Bajanne's death....
I remember her wise words and comforting thoughts when Mum hasn't been well...
May her gentle soul rest in peace....
An Irish blessing for a departed friend...
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.
-
I will miss her with all my heart, she was such a pure spirit, one of the best people I have ever known.
-
When the words decide to make sense instead of the tears I have now, hopefully I will be able to write something for Bajanne and her family.
-
Prayers to her family for all that is needed; Fair winds and following seas, rest well Aurora, you will be missed.
-
I just saw this. I am so sorry....I will be holding Bajanne and her family in my prayers.
Godspeed, Aurora, go with God.

This was a shock to see on Facebook. Just seemed like she posted recently, but in reality it was a month ago in the thread I read.

This is just such a shock. Bajanne seemed to be in a really good place in her life. I'm so sorry.
-
Bajanne, you became my friend and mentor when I needed one badly. I will miss you always and wish you peace in eternity.

I can't believe this. Another Sister gone! I will never forget the PM she sent me long ago. So inspirational! You will be missed deeply, Bajanne. Rest in Jesus arms, my dear sweet lady!

:(
this is heartbreaking.
I didnt get to speak with her on a one on one basis, even though i actually intended to...
I was fortunate to have her as secret santa, and have some very nifty things to look at and remember her by.
perhaps i should break open that tinsy bottle of liquid she sent me, in her honor.
my love and thoughts, I send to her family.
:grouphug;

*VERY sad face*
She was such a lovely woman.
-
She was such a warm and positive person. I am so very sad to see this. Rest in Peace our dearest Bajanne.
-
Is it wrong of me to ask if anyone knows what took her. She seemed ok and i dont know if it matters the 'why' or 'what' but sometimes it settles thoughts. I hope her family is ok. What a hard thing to have to deal with and i wish them all healing.
-
:grouphug; For all her family

She just posted yesterday. I am sure this was a shock to everyone.
I knew I saw her posting the other day.
When I saw this, it just floored me. From my first days here to as recently as my issues with the transplant surgeons (and probably other things that I'm just not recalling at the moment) she always had a kind and encouraging word to say. She will definitely be missed.

Facebook post today from Bajanne's daughter Sam:
Announcement: There will be a Home Going Celebration in Tortola for my mother on the Tuesday the 14th of May at the St. George's Anglican Church on Main Street. The viewing starts from 10:30 to 11:10 followed by a service of tributes. Please as we celebrate this vibrant life, please wear vibrant colours or african clothes. We are rejoicing that the Lord has taken my beautiful mother home. Thanks everyone. Please keep my family in your prayers during this difficult time.

A Home Going Celebration.. I like that
On Prince Edward Island we have a tradition that I believe stems from our Irish roots (and if I'm wrong about this, I'm sure Darth will "correct" me.*L*). When someone dies, we have a wake, and raise a glass, and if for some reason you're not able to make the wake, you still find a way to raise a glass. *G*
So, for Bajanne, I will raise my glass and say, fare well, my friend. I hope that when I make my way home, you will be on the welcoming committee.
-
You're spot on, Rikki.....
The wake, and raising a glass of something boozy to the deceased is VERY much an Irish Tradition... It's part of the Irish thing of 'Giving the person a good send off'...
A slightly odd thing is when we raise the glass to the corpse, we say 'Slainte' (prounounced Slawn-cha), meaning 'Health'... I never said we were sane!....
Safe Home, Bajanne... I'll raise a large glass of grapefruit juice to you... Slainte!....
Love to all.... We need to appreciate each other even more these days... Our very existance is so fragile!..
Darth....

Bajanne is still in my heart. She made me feel very welcome when I first found IHD. I am so sorry that I wasn't able to make a Vegas Meet.
May you always find blue skies above your head,
Shamrocks beneath your feet,
Laughter and joy aplenty.
Kindness from all you meet,
Good friends and kin to miss you
If ever you choose to roam,
And a path that's been cleared
By Angels themselves
To carry you safely home.
Love you and miss you, Bajanne :'(
