Hi this is my first post but wanted to share with you guys while im waiting in the hospital for my bloods and heart x ray as I got the call this evening confirming they found me a match. Feeling excited as well as a little tense to he honest. I only started capd last october and have already had two bouts of peritonitis with the most recent being a few weeks ago. I was only put back on the list last week after being suspended due to peritonitis. I just hope everything goes well when my bloods etc come back but the doc seems quite positive. However just sitting in my hospital bed and nil by mouth until they decide to operate.

It took a long time for the go-ahead for Carl. We got the call around midnight that they were flying in a kidney for him. It arrived around 10:00 am and the wait until 3:00 PM for the crossmatching was an eternity. Two years later all is well. I hope the same for you!

My last transplant, I didn't go for the operation till about 24 hours after the original call. They called me at 4:30 on a monday afternoon.. it took 2 hours to find my mom.. we drove to the transplant hospital, which normally is a 4 hour drive.. took us 3 hours.. *L* I was admitted at 9:30 that night, and had the operation at 5 the next afternoon.
You might be in for a long wait

Good news everyone they called me in at 3pm. The op went really well it was a 6/6 match. Im just recovering in my hospital bed they said to stay here at least 5 days. Got three tubes in my neck and waay for them to get blood out. My kidney started producing urine straight away they checking the output rates etc. Anyway i need to get some rest but thought I would give an update xx

Wow! 6/6!!!
No wonder you got that kidney after such a short wait!
Carl's was only 3/6 and they flew it in from an entirely different region of the country! This news just ROCKS!!!!
