Thanks for all the congratulations.
First all, latest creatinine is 1.56 ... going the right direction still. :2thumbsup;
When my doctor told me, the donor kidney is a really good one and coming from an 18 year old, I was shocked and a feeling of unworthiness overcame me. Writing the letter to the donor family has not been easy, I really could not express how grateful I am.
Surgery went smoothly and the kidney working right away but there are a lot of pain the first day even I gave myself pain med every 6 minutes, there was no release at all. With the pain & fever, I do not remember much of the first day other than I kept telling to my family, "how come I do not remember it is so painful before?" On the 3rd day, no need for pain med any more and I was doing so well and got discharged on the 4th day.
I have to say in the 17 year ( my first transplant was 1995), there are a lot of improvement. I used to have what they called mood swing ( seeing/hearing things not there; laughing & crying for no reason at all, it got so bad, I thought I went crazy ), I was half expected the same thing this time but nothing. I think the doctor know about anti-rejection med better now. Which is such a blessing for us patients.
By the way, okarol, thank for adding me to the list. Do not want to picky :embarassed:. I was admitted at 9/12 but surgery at 9/13.
