More and more, I'm seeing special labels on foods stating "reduced sodium", rather than the older "no salt added". You MIGHT think that the 2 are the same, but they are not! Almost without exception, those foods marked 'reduced sodium' have had the usual salt replaced with potassium chloride (which is itself, also a 'salt'), which, for kidney patients, is the LAST thing you would want to eat. Look carefully at the labels; nearly all the 'reduced sodium' labels list potassium content, and it's almost always sky-high. Buying the high-sodium version is probably safer for kidney patients.
