Title: insurance rates
Post by: tyefly on September 03, 2012, 11:09:00 AM
Just wanted to let people know that my private insurance went up alot this year....   I had a transplant one year ago so I am now on Medicare thru our private insurance...my husband is also on the insurance plan as well.... we have coverage thru our business and we pay for our own group insurance....  for the past  6 years  our rates went up about 50.00 per person every year.....  well its time for our renewal and this year  our rates went up 300.00 dollars  for one person..... I am on medicare ( primary now )  and my rate went up only 2.00  (medicare senior advantage plan )  but my hubby's went up 300.00 a month..... went from 577.00 to 879.00 a month....  Called and ask why..... I was told it was because I went to a senior advantage plan on medicare and I am now not included in the group plan........   Cant believe the cost increase..... I know I will be kick off of medicare in two years  and then I bet I will  have to pay 8 to 900.00 per month for just me ..... and then hubby will be paying just as much...... that will be close to 1800.00 per month.....    we are in trouble...we have to keep our insurance plan because of my condition and the transplant drugs.....  How does a insurance company raise their rates and get away with it........  sadly  my hubby has no health problems and never goes to the doctor and yet he has to pay almost 900.00 a month for insurance..... private insurance simply is for the rich......

WOW that is crazy.  I thought Obamacare wasn't going to allow that to happen.  I'd look further and keep calling.  How can anyone afford that.  Cheaper to go back on dialysis .... isn't that sad... ?

A lot of the new healthcare law doesn't go into effect til 2014. If the Republicans win, none of it will be there. There have already been 33 votes to recall the law. So much of the country thinks sick people bring it on themselves and don't deserve help. While our congressmen have such good insurance, the plight of the rest of us won't cross their minds.
