Title: Fistula and golf
Post by: thomaslea1 on August 28, 2012, 06:50:51 PM
Going to see the Vascular guy tomorrow and the fistula subject will come up.  Is there anyone out there with one that plays golf?  Nephro says I can, but he's not a golfer.

This is defintely something you want to ask. Streching the arm may be something to be careful about, especially while your fistula is maturing.

I would also ask the vascular surgeon to let you know the size of your vein/artery if they have measured. Different surgeons have different comfort levels on what size they work with before they recommend a synthetic graft.  Your own veins are always better.  It wouldnt hurt to get a second opinion if they recommend a graft.  Just my opinion.

I fish twice a week and probably cast a fishing rod 200 times a week and I have a fistula.  No problem
