Great Youtube video.
What made me tear up was that Karol use to do it all for Jenna and now Jenna is out there taking over and doing it for herself. Jenna is taking the lead in her health and digging in to get her own kidney.
You go girl! :cheer:

that was so good... It makes this stuff so much more real when you actually see the people who need these organs. Great job! I wish you the best!!

You're right, I never could have predicted this. I have to say that the process of making the video has brought up lots of emotions for Jenna, and she WANTED to participate more as we went along. It really has been an amazing process!
:cheer: Great Video !!!
Thanks!

The film is dedicated to people all over the world who wait for an organ transplant, that might never come.

Ha! I will ask her. She is a big Mystery Science Theater fan, also likes Batman and all the people dressed up as pop-culture characters.
The video has over 3,300 views in 2 days. We have heard from a lot of living donors and kidney patients. Also had a girl offer to donate in minutes after Chris Hardwick tweeted her facebook page! It will be interesting to see if that pans out!

That is very cool. I have two people that want to be tested. I am just in the beginning of this whole transplant thing. I have a few doctor appointments to do first. But the tests I have had done already were good. Heart tests and such. Now just dental, mammogram and PAP testing to go for me . The two that wish to be tested haven't done anything yet. I am just now trying to figure all of this stuff out, it's mind boggling.

Hi Karol, I am really rooting for your daughter, for you and for your family. I was really touched watching this. I have a lot of admiration for you all doing this for Jenna. :2thumbsup;
My prayers go out to you and Jenna, your family that something will happen soon. :cuddle; Thanks so much for sharing your video here :cuddle;

Thanks :thx; :thx; :thx;
One of the challenges in this is that you never know if anyone contacts the transplant team. A woman from craigslist and one another from facebook both said they'd call the hospital. I know one did complete the on-phone questionnaire, because she emailed me, but beyond that we have no idea. The living donor coordinator is different than Jenna's coordinator. So we are moving forward hoping that there are some people out there who are getting tested.

I know, right. It's a weird feeling knowing the information is out there but not knowing if anyone is doing anything about it. I have two people (both in-laws) who called and got the paperwork sent to them. And it's been a while, for sure one of them has had enough time to know the answer. But I feel awkward when I see them because they don't say anything about it. I don't know if they ever even turned the paperwork in.
I do know that Facebook has been extremely helpful in getting the information out there. When my sister created my Find a Kidney for Amy page I had a couple friends say they didn't know I was going through this. I assumed they'd heard it through the grape vine. I guess I'm not gossiped about as much as I thought.

Tonight I spoke for an hour to a mom of a 12 year old boy named Jackson, in So. Carolina. He needs a kidney transplant, but doesn't really want to talk about it. She said hes a bit shy, kind of nerdy, and when he saw Jenna went to ComicCon, his eyes lit up and he actually watched the whole video. His mom wanted me to tell Jenna what an impact it had on him. She said the video helped her too, to not feel so alone.
Thank you for watching and sharing it.
