I have been having issues with eating. Sometimes I feel so hungry then i start to eat n cant eat but a few bites. Then there are times when i feel hungry n sick at the same time. I havent thrown up any just felt sick to my stomach. Im not sure if its related to my ckd or if i should contact my neph. I dont c him again for 2 more months, but wen i saw him last my gfr had dropped he had me do blood work again in a month and it had dropped another point but he didnt seem to concerned. Im at a gfr of 25 now. Any help is welcome.

Loss of appetite and nausea are early symptoms of Uremia ...Please call your Neph, Tell them your symptoms and request an immediate blood test TODAY. It's important to look at the Kidney stuff first because the symptoms can be very vague. There are many Meds that can cause this too. Are you taking anything new?
Let us know how you make out.
Peace

Once you start Dialysis, you will likely have that nausea go away. Like stringbandbeth said above, Please call your neph.
-
I agree you need to call. Your albumin level is dropping, who knows what your electrolytes look like. Not eating is a real problem.
-
i did this for a while. i would get so hungry, but when i tried to eat, i could get about 4 bites maybe then the thought of taking another bit was so nauseating. it would take me about an hour to try to eat a sandwich. and if i ddnt eat with so long when i felt hungry, i would get nauseous and not hungry anymore. i would definitely call, i noticed this more as my creatinine got higher

Thanx a lot yall i will call my neph tomorrow n c what he says. N no havent been put on any new meds in a while. Right now only c my neph every 6 months he dont seem to concerned with any of my results ive thought about getting a 2nd opinion but hate the thought of starting all over.
-
Thanks again for the replies, i did contact my neph and the soonest he can see me is on the 28th of this month so i guess ill just have to play the waiting game until then.
-
thats thew absolute soonest he can see you? wow, i would make an appointment with another neph apparently they dnt seem to be taking what your saying seriously, imo
-
Yea i feel that way to but what do i do i guess start over frm scrach i got a few names from a member on here that use to live in my area so i guess i am going to give them a call on Monday n c what they say. Sometimes i just feel like im banging my head aginst a wall. I cant realy talk to my husband cause i dont think he realy understandas how i feel. Scared, worried, confused, and lost all rolled up up in one.

ur not too far into it, and i have swirtched clinics and was very happy when i did switch, if ur not happy ur settling and thats not something u want to do especially at this stage of the game. i loved my last neph, he was the first doc i had to encourage lowering doses of my pills, and was always reluctant to start something new, i loved him

belija do u sweat a lot is that normal or is it just me. I hate it i forced myself outside today to wash my car n within 5 min of being outside i was already soaked with sweat n its not really that hot this evening as matter of fact it started to rain soon as i came in.

The kidneys help regulate body temp, so those of us with ESRD don't always react to hot or cold environments like we used to. I've had a transplant, and I'm still perpetually cold. You may be experiencing the opposite.
-
Oh, jbeany, thanks so very much for that info!!! :sarcasm; So, now I only have to deal with hot flashes, being overly warm due to the kidney mess and 104 degrees outside. All at the same stinkin time!!!! I am soooo happy!!!

You might try keeping a food diary, and how your body responds to certain foods.

honestly i really ddnt sweat too bad predialysis, or even when i went on PD, however when i went on in center hemo, i sweat so bad, it did not matter how much deodorant i put on, i ended up paying 15 bucks for deodorant, and it only worked half the time, i hated it, all my shirts got the tell tale pit stains. but when i went back to pd, and even now after transplant i have to use a lot of deodorant, but luckily im able to use cheaper stuff.

I saw the new neph today. I absolutely love her. I learned more in the 45 min we spent talking than I have in 6 yrs. The bad is my creatinine level is creeping higher but she is hopeful that we can put dialysis off for awhile longer but when it reaches 3 she said she would send me for vein mapping. I'm @ 2.5 now. I am so glad I was pointed in her direction. She did not know about this sight and I told her it was a God sent because all of u guys r so great. She is going to check it out herself. I go bk in October and every 2 months after. I am so thankful I finely have Dr who cares about how I feel and what is really going on in my body. She Is even going to try n help get my disability started. Here is to answered prayers and good friends :beer1;. THANKS SO MUCH ALL OF U!
