Title: Low Blood Pressure
Post by: Barry on July 06, 2012, 09:33:15 AM
My bloop pressure has been wicked low for a week now i have been holding my bp meds and my last two treatments have started with my bp being 60/30 and 63/34 both times I have left the dialysis center weighing more than when i left I am thinking it has do with me becoming de hydrated as fluid restrictions and the extreme heat we've been having are not mixing well I have been trying to drink more water but am still having bp issues

My BP has been low for the last couple of days too. I've been holding my topamax to see if that brings it back up. So far, I've been doing ok but will see where I'm at it the morning. My Neph told me to keep an eye on my weight to help moderate my fluid intake with the heat. So far, I've been holding steady at 179-180 when I come off the machine in the morning.

Barry, ask your neph for Proamatine (generic -Midodrine), but first see if they can't give you a saline bolus before taken you off and maybe some chips to eat.  If that doesnt bring it up, then have neph prescribe Midodrine tabs. Hubby use to have this problem when in-center and when nothing else worked she prescribe Midodrine.  That brought his up.

If I recall, he continually had to take them just before Dialysis Incenter.  It helped somewhat.  But since he does it at home, he hardly ever has to take meds anymore, except the binders & occasional PTH meds.

Let us know how it goes,

God Bless,
