I had an AV fistula and a pd cath placed on the same day but it seems that after the surgery I got sicker. My kidney functions are at 12% and I think I can tell. I vomit everyday and when I'm not sick I'm sleep. I feel like my life is failing. I want to give up but I have a family that loves me so I try to be strong. I'm just writing because I start pd on July 2nd and I was wondering if my fourth is going to be sucky like the rest of this month? I want to eat and enjoy my family and have some safe fun. Just my life right now.

right now u feel like crap bc u need dialysis... once u start u will feel better, u will noticve that u will want to do things again. idk if it will have time to adjust in 2 day so that u can enjoyt ur fourth, but i hope for u u will feel up to enjoying time with them.... i htink just getting out and spending time with others will help u mentally. this D sucks, but sometimes its better than needing it and not having it :waving;

Welcome to IHD. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time right now and I hope you will be feeling better soon. Hold on to your family's love right now and know that it will get better.

Hang in there - once the toxins start coming off with the PD, it will make you feel better. It might take a bit, though. Don't count on running around the yard with any 4th of July sparklers - but get your blood work back to normal, and you should show an improvement very soon.

Just wanted to add my voice to what others here have said. Try to hang on. Sleep as much as you need to. Understand that it may take a little while for you to feel an improvement, but once the toxins start to clear, you WILL be able to enjoy some summer fun. All the best to you.

You should feel differently and view things differently once you are on PD. good luck and keep us posted. :grouphug;
