Title: Shortness of breath and pain issues... what to do?
Post by: nanadar on June 10, 2012, 07:30:55 AM
I only started PD on may 28th so know very little about it yet. I am experiencing a shortness of breath, mostly in the evenings it's worse but it is all day long. I can't even walk downstairs without gasping. Sometimes I'll just start gasping for no reason ( like sitting inmy car at a red light ). Will this ever go away?
I'm also experincing a lot of pain in my neck / arms and abdoman since I started. Please tell me there is releaf in sight and it's just because my body is adjusting. Any ideas what to do to help?

thanks.

sounds like you could have fluid overload - Laurie had this problem and was found to be retaining a lot of fluid especially around his lungs - worth getting checked .

I am a little shorter in the breathe department since starting PD.  I put it down to the PD fluid taking up some of my diaphragm space.

You should mention it to you PD nurse or doctor - it could be fluid retention.
