Okay so even though many members are not the huge fans of NKF...my living donor and I are going to be on tv June 4th at 8:20am. We are going to be on FOX 8 news in the morning talking about our story and promoting the Kidney Walk in Northeast Ohio. I'm not sure if you can watch online or not, but I know some members are from Ohio. I would love for my IHD family to get a glimpse of my public speaking skills.....

This is outstanding!!! I've just watched Cordelia on Canadian TV being interviewed about donor exchange; she was able to post a link to the TV station's website, and I bet you will be able to do the same. So once your interview has been aired, maybe you can post a link so that we can go and see you!
-
That's so awesome!! :yahoo; Welcome to the public speaking club! LOL :rofl; :P
Like MM said, I was able to post the link to my TV debut, I hope you can too! :thumbup; Way to go! I can't wait to see it!! :clap;

Oh noo! I'm sorry to hear that. :( I hope you can find it soon.
I know how frustrated you feel. My link to my tv public-speaking debut, was removed off the website where I was, for space ::) >:(

Fantastic! You look gorgeous as always! And you know, one thing that I thought was really important was how it was emphasized that because Jeff was told he needed to lose weight and get his bp and blood sugar down before he could donate, he did just that and has been rewarded with better health himself. As he said, it was a win-win. I think it is really important to potential donors to know that they can actually benefit from donation.
I don't see anything to critique except I thought the presenter was a little bit ditzy. LOL!
Thanks so much for being such a techie whiz and posting the link. I've been waitiing forever for it.! :2thumbsup;
-
aw Moosey thanks dear...I thought I smiled to much! :rofl; I know it is a ridiculous...but I thought it....
Hope you are continuing to heal and grow stronger everyday...and about that trip to OHIO...

I'd LOVE to come see you and Neil in Ohio! Be sure you mean it, because I'll be there before you know it! LOL!
You have a dazzling smile, and you have every reason to use it as much as you can, especially when talking about getting a tx from an altruistic donor! You were charming and articulate, the perfect spokesperson for the cause!
-
LOVED IT!!!! So sophisticated and well spoken, Rachel.

Oh dear, so it wasn't just me. :rofl; When her first question was about diabetes, I immediately said to the screen "Wait, she's got PKD!" Also, calling you perfect strangers was confusing since it was false. Did they do any kind of pre-interview, or did they just throw you both out there and let her muddle her way through?
You've done us proud, Rachel. :yahoo;
-
Absolute ripper, Rachel! And, as for the smile, bloody dazzling!!
-
Awwwww RAch, that was terrific!! and it was so good to 'see' you in action... Great job!! Thanks so much for tracking it down and sharing sweetness.. hugs, and hope alls well with you and bro.
-
Nice job!!
-
That was great! :2thumbsup; :clap;
-
That's fantastic Rachel!!! You look great, said coherent and relevant things, sounded interesting, covered for the hostess who was a bit lost at first, and smiled like a superstar. And what a lovely guy that Jeff character seems to be. Nice looking sort, too, I like tall men. Lovely. Great to see. Grinning a lot now.
-
"Loved it!!!!!" Good job! Hopefully Neil has a match out there too! Thanks for getting the word out for all who are in need! Walks are good for awareness.

FANTASTIC -- GREAT -- sorry I could not get it online --
I am one who is not a fan of NKF - however, there are reasons for such --- Several years back I got kudos for some of my work from NKF head huncho--however, when I then asked for support related to delivery of care in facilities, well, they wanted no part of it -- I am talking about the retaliation/bullying of patients, the lack of adhering to correct procedures, etc... But, I do give them credit for what they do

Having donated a kidney 12 years ago, I can tell Jeff what problems lie ahead: NOTHING!!! There hasn't been a day I've regretted it, most day's I don't even think about it, and after the recovery I've never felt any different. And best of all it is still going!
Usually I don't like to mention it - except when it might do somebody some good, so here is to you Jeff!

yeah I am starting to not be crazy about where a lot of their money is funneled to either...I may fundraise a little this year for American Kidney Fund....I told my friend who works for the NKF about how they take a hit on the boards for how the money is spent and he really couldn't defend the NKF. :(

yes I was a little taken back when she first mentioned diabetes & then said we were total strangers...it was very odd...I have 2 statistics ready about the number of folks waiting for kidneys in USA & she took up so much time with bad facts...oddI'd LOVE to come see you and Neil in Ohio! Be sure you mean it, because I'll be there before you know it! LOL!
I mean it Moosey! :clap;
