Dialysis Patient Survival Is Better at Fresenius Medical Care Clinics Because ...
— Part I

This is a story not about just one physician's conflict of interest, but about multiple persons' conflicts of interest in a vertically-integrated, for-profit healthcare corporation. All these conflicts of interest had a multiplying effect, resulting in risks and dangers for patients that are at a minimum, highly unacceptable, and at worst, criminal.

Oh joy, Fresenius just bought out my independent lab. Wonder what changes I will see on the PD side of the house.

One has to really wonder what happens at the Corporate level of the dialysis world. A good example is those at the top working towards decreasing infections acquired --- however, the inspection reports continued (California) to show that staff are not implementing correct practices --- Are these individuals and those at the government level, spinning their wheels and reinventing the bigger wheel? Simple solutions to the problems --- quite simple, in fact
***Evaluate the existing training/education programs and develop new ones
***Evaluate the effectiveness of the unit level superivsion and if not working, retrain those in the supervisory position

As always, I am sure that those delivering care would NOT want to receive some of the care that some of the patients receive in some of the units.
