Last week hubby went to have a drain off on his lung, he has heart problems along with dialysis. Spent 6 hours getting it done. This week we ended in emergency , I thought he was having another heart attack, Signs were aching shoulders and feeling really not well. He had achy shoulders when he had a heart attack last year. They took bloods, chest x-rays. had him hooked up to a heart monitor. Conclusions were: lung had filled up with fluid again, bloods were not good, heart not good and then the they said it was not cardiac related it could be ARTHRITIS in his shoulders. We got home 5 hours later. So that is another thing to add to the list. When does it ever stop. it seems to go on and on. Sorry just ranting.

oh believe me i know this route and feel for you. We just got Bos hemoglobin stabled so he can now walk and 'try' to get some strength back. Well guess what, he leaned on the couch the other night, fell asleep and splat on the floor and hurt (not broke thank God) his hip and is now gimping about that and cant get out and walk once again. It's horrable hard!! He too gets the lung sucking thing but only takes about 5-10 min. Geesh. What stress and scream, stomp or what ever it takes... Its HARD!! It HURTS!! and sometimes im sure i'll go before him but gotta hang on cause if i go, he goes as he would quit it all :( Im sorry others have to go through it. Im truly feel for ya :cuddle;

billybags - I'm sorry you (and hubby) are having such a rough time. It can be so hard to cope when it feels like the universe is dumping on you! Seems to me you deserve a good rant about now. Sending hugs and hopes for easier days ahead. :cuddle;

You're joking...arthritis on top of everything else? What a nightmare. :o

BillyBags, I feel for you. We landed in the ER back in January because my SO was having such bad pain in his neck and shoulders that he was in tears. Mind you, this is the man who woke up during a transplant because they had to flush the anesthesia because he was ultra sensitive and they didn't know, so they started to lose him. He knows pain, and he said the arthritis in his neck/shoulders/back hurt worse than anything else he's had.
It's stressful, and horrible. Try to get him to see a rhuematologist, or if your primary doc or neph is good, ask about the Flector patches. They are a topical NSAID like Advil but because they absorb through the skin and go directly where needed, they won't harm his kidneys.
Big hugs coming your way! :cuddle;

billybags, it's a bloody rough road. I suppose it's worth keeping on; 'though sometimes I have my doubts.
