Wow, this was an adventure. After the block, profonol (sp?) and my possessed arm....I'm finally home 12 hours later! My arm and fingers would not move! They finally moved me to observation and laid there for 8 more hours. My arm was absolutely numb...at one point I smacked my own self in the head! Then my daughter picked it up when I wasn't looking and it freaked me out!! To see your arm and know you did not put it there!!??!!!!
Well i am home typing with one hand. Heres to a healthy fast healing!! :bandance;

Wait a minute...I missed something! I knew your surgery had been delayed because of issues with asthma, but I didn't know that today was the day! My apologies!
Twelve hours! Oh goodness, is everything OK? Is the surgeon happy with your outcome?
You have my permission to smack your daughter once you can move your arm again; :Kit n Stik; for freaking you out. LOL!
Be sure to give us daily reports on your progress. I'm glad you are home and are OK.

Wow. What did the surgeon do? How big is/are your incision(s)?
It's still hard for me to wrap my head around having such a strong shoulder block and long recovery. I assume by "profonol" you mean propofol(?), so you were completely out when they did it. I'm just wondering how much digging around and cutting they did.

How are you feeling now ? Heal fast :D

I have a money making idea for you. If Hollywood wants to do a remake of Dr. Strangelove, you should audition for the role of the Nazi Rocket Scientist, Dr. Strangelove whose arm uncontrollably flew into a Nazi salute at inappropriate times. He had to wrestle it into submission. Peter Sellers played that role (and others) in the original film.
I had my first in July, 2011 and at my second dialysis session, it didn't work. So off to see the vascular surgeon for what I suspect was a fancy and expensive roto-rooter job on the fistula. I had to skip dialysis session #3 that was scheduled for the day after surgery, but the following Monday (three days later) I was on the needle without trouble. And no clots since.

Haha...crazy scientist...thats me! I stopped taking the Vicodin Thursday Morning...it made me nauseous and gave me a baaaaaad headache. Today soooooooooooooooooo much better. I really think pain meds slows the healing. I can move it better and type a bit better. No pulling or lifting. I get to take the bandage off tomorrow and take a shower. My right arm looks like half a Snookie! :rofl;
My daughter has been a HUGE help. If I didn't have her here I would not of been so positive. :yahoo;

It is 4 days since surgery and I am fricking tired. Walking to the laundry room or walking my dog is tiring. Maybe I should take tomorrow off too? We need a tired icon.
