Anyone on CAPD have the same issues that I have with the pins getting stuck in the tube :rant; after you break the seals? Oh sure, they say it's easy to break them and they are supposed to fall into your bags when you shake them out, but I CAN NEVER GET THAT TO HAPPEN!! So here I am at 10 at night trying to get hooked up and you'll see me hopping around, shaking, and then throwing my dialysis 5000 ml bag against a wall. :banghead;
Fresenius Medical Care is who I get my supplies from, and they just send me to a survey line that has nothing to do with my issue with the pins/bags. I have a Liberty Cycler and haven't had any issues with it, save for a few alarms that were easily fixed.
Anyone have this problem and found a solution that I haven't thought of? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :thx;

Oh I remember those being such a head ache. I too, had a hard time brecking those pins. Now are you doing the cycler and an exchange? I know when J. started he did the manual (CAPD) at first, then he used cycler (CCPD) over night, and then later down the road he did both, cycler at night w/h daytime exchange!
I really don't have an answer Annie, but I remember the frustration with those bags.

I just grab it by the connector and give it a hard shake. I have only had trouble with taht three or four times in 18 months.

I have Baxter and do CAPD (8 months)
and I must say, the only thing I get is caps, a pole, clamps, and two bags, one with solution (new) and an empty one for my drain............
I do everything manually, there are no pins, connectors or dials or anything, its so simple a child could do it :clap;

You're still breaking the frangable tbarrett, I think that's what Annig83 is talking about. Or it's equivalent on the Fresenius system anyway. I agree that the Baxter system is pretty easy, even if you're on CCPD using RED clamps... ;)

I do CAPD overnight (9 hrs, no exchanges manually). Thanks for your support, maybe if I "yell" at Fresenius a little more they will come up with a solution to breaking the franglibles (pins I was talking about). I used to do manuals, with the pole and everything, but with a 15 month old, doing the cycler overnight is so much easier! Thanks for everyone's input!
@Don- I'll look at the video and see if it helps me. :thx;

With the Baxter system, you break the frangible and just work the pin up the line about an inch. That lets the fluid flow around it.

Its so easy too,
just one lil snap! (well two)
I was lookin at videos of other PD suppliers and let me tell ya Joe we Baxter patients got it super easy!! these other poor patients got dials, knobs, turns, hooks, kitchen sinks and even pay checks :lol; :rofl; :rofl;
