Hey everyone, I hope you've had a good weekend thus far. I was just wondering why we don't have an official Facebook page? I apologise in advance if this has been asked previously, but I couldn't find a post where this had been asked.
If there isn't one, how many people like myself would like to see an official page be made?
I don't mind helping in its creation if we are to make one. If someone knows who I should talk to about this sort of thing, please point me in the right direction.
Also if anyone is on Facebook at the moment and wants to add me, my name is "Hardev Singh Manku" and my profile picture is the same as my forum picture. Just let me know you're from the forum and not someone random lol.

A few of the people who had a hard time with IHD have started a group chat on facebook. We have about 22 people on there right now. Most of us have become really tight friends and are now traveling across the globe to meet each other.

Oh ok, what's the group name? Could you post a link please? I can't find anything with regards to "ihatedialysis" on Facebook.

Hi Hardev. There's an offical Facebook page here ... https://www.facebook.com/groups/46205402133/ ... I don't know the chat group of which iketchum speaks so can't help with that one!

The link that Poppylicious provided is correct, or, you can search for "I Hate Dialysis". The key is the spaces.
I don't know about the chat group with 22 members, either.

Thanks ladies, you're right, the link works a treat. I've sent a request to join the group, if you're in the group, I'll see you on Facebook I guess.
I've got to keep the positivity flowing, I refuse to believe in "Feeling down" anymore and now Facebook is going to be infected with my brand of positivity!

Facebook is fine for people who want to share publicly, but for people who don't want to use their real name, or others who are more comfortable sharing their personal experiences in anonymity, IHD is a good place to be.
As mentioned below, we have a facebook group.
We also have a facebook page - please LIKE it https://www.facebook.com/IHateDialysis :thx;

Great stuff okarol, but just out of interest, why isn't the Facebook page on the homepage at all? Just an idea but I think it should be somewhere visible.
I get that some people may prefer keeping anonymous, I just don't think anyone should shy away or want to hide their condition, just my opinion. I always say dialysis was just the beginning not the end, I almost bragg about being on dialysis as I've grown in so many ways since I've been on dialysis. To me it was a blessing in disguise.

Facebook isn't for everyone, but those who find IHD there often end up coming here.
We really haven't changed much on the home page since Epoman died. It's hard to think about that, well, for me anyway, and for other long standing members who knew him.
One reason to stay anonymous is if you're having difficulty with your dialysis center but do not want to rant publicly and possibly face retaliation by that center. Another reason is if you're trying to get on the transplant list, you don't have to worry about someone reading personal posts, for example, about marijuana use, or missing treatments, or financial concerns.

Exactly Okarol! We like this forum because of it is anynoumuos (?). We don't do Facebook. I personally don't mind if others want to use it if they choose to. IHD is sufficient for us!

@ Okarol and Riverwhispering - Thanks, I've joined the page and the group. I'm looking forward to contributing to both.
@ Imunchkin - Yeah that's fine, but I don't mind people knowing who I am. I want people to know who I am and my story. If it inspires even one person then it's been worth it!
