Just a rant. I'm annoyed with our health center at work. It's convenient in that it's part of one of our campuses. It's not at the campus I work at, so I still have to drive a couple miles from my campus to that one, but it's still pretty convenient when I'm at work. A couple of weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment for this afternoon to get my final hepatitis vaccine and to see if they carry the shingles vaccine. When I scheduled the appointment, I didn't realize I was scheduling it for President's Day. Their website doesn't say anything about being open or closed for the holiday. It just lists their open hours as M-F, 8-5. However, it's an employee-only clinic and no employees will be around today. I called on Friday to ask them, and was promted to leave a voicemail message. I don't think anyone answers the phone in person over there. :Kit n Stik; No one called back. I checked my email for a message that I need to reschedule - nothing. I get the same voicemail prompt today. No mention of whether they're open or closed.
I don't know if I should drive all the way over there in person to find out if they're open (about 10 mile drive to an area I'd never go if I didn't work there), or if I should just assume they're closed and didn't bother posting the real hours or calling back to tell me. :Kit n Stik;

If they really are closed, it would have been nice if someone would have changed the voicemail greeting. . . ."Due to Presidents' Day, we will be closed on Monday, February 20".
If they really are open, and you don't show up, will they change you for a missed appointment?
If your work is closed, maybe the health center is closed too.
Good luck.

I decided to assume they were closed. I tried calling and emailing. I got a response to the email, but it was just a message that the responder didn't know what the office hours were. His role was only to maintain the website and reset passwords. :Kit n Stik; There's no fee for missing if they were open, and if there was a fee, I don't think they could hold me to it considering I tried to contact them.
