Title: Can't wait to transfer to the other center
Post by: needlephobic on February 07, 2012, 08:27:41 PM
I am transferring to another center can't stand Davita and there short cuts I mean there so called cuts. There staff I mean teamates cellphones are more inportain then our lives. The machines will be beeping like crazy and they the staff will be holding up the counters with there butts texting maybe there boss needs to take there toys away and they will get them back after there shift. Today they had a little birthday party and my machine kept beeping and they kept coming over to reset but not find the prob and we are talking it beep so much had to spend a extra hour in the chair had to pee but they didn't care there little partry was more important than my life. So I can't wait for the move.

hope every thing works out. It must be awful when you see staff messing about and people need help. Has any one reported them?

I would be proactive.  I would write a letter to the DaVita district supervisor to let them know what goes on.  Put a "CC" at the bottom of the letter to an attorney.  If you don't have one you can use my buddy.  It doesn't cost anything to send him a letter.  Perhaps we need a thread about Da Vita nephro clinics, where people could record their complaints.

I agree with you,  Whamo.  They need to be hel accountable for their poor level of care.

Me too it is awful to set there and they are playing with there phones while alarms are going off and they continue playing than find out what is going on and when they do they grumble and gripe right at you about it if it ruined there play time. One time my neighbor's machine when off about 4 steps away was a LPN   playing on her phone she looked up and then back to her phone then looked at my neighbor and asked a tech to deal with it and she went on playing with her phone BYW the tech was in another section behind me. Makes me feel  worried that I must trust these people with my life. Lord knows we can't interrupt there texting if we are dieing

Don't think that will work I feel they are trying to blackball me in my attempt to move to another center they will use the noncompliant to hurt me but there is reasons for my madness

I agree with HILINE it would be all my fault. As for my Needle phobia Not getting any help at the D center they were prob told not to have nothing to do with me as of lately I have been ignored at the center. The center I am hoping to go too is going to heal[p me with my fear. The Dr I was seeing is not helping at all thinks if I be assertive I will be able to get over it. On the other hand he told me to get over my fear go ahead and get stuck that's like telling a manic depressed person to go a head and cheer up. It don't work that way.

This is a horrible position to put the patients in.  My first inclination would be to get a cell phone blocker.  You can get ones that have a radius of 25' for $100.  I imagine that, because your staff is so poor at their job, they would probably disappear into the back to use their phones and you would be helpless out there.

Sometimes the clinic manager has their office in the back (like at my cliinic) and they rarely step out on the floor to supervise the "children."  In that case, a letter to the manager is the best place to start.  I also applaud the idea to send a letter to management copies to a lawyer.  The last thing in the world a clinic wants is legal action.  It threatens their medical license and can earn them bad press in the community.

My best to you on your clinic change.

Hey learn how to spell idiot.

Oh, you must be one of the techs to whom Needlephobic is referring; I'm not sure why you'd be so hateful otherwise. Seriously, this is all you have to contribute to the conversation?

Also: learn how to punctuate.

Robyn, Robyn, Robyn, in your intro you said you treat patients as you would want your family member treated, this is how you would want your loved ones spoken to?

The rules here are not that complicated - fight nice or take your spell checker and go home.  And I mean that in the most loving, respectful way.

MaryJoe, I am not sure who you are referring to - First, I do not see any Robyn here and if you meant Roberta, I have not stated anything but my opinions and have not been disrespectful to anyone --

I am asking if needlephobic has moved to another unit, if not, our group might be able to help him do such 1-800=847-8842
And, for all of you who read the post about blackballing, YES, this happens in a very covert manner. One unit tells another unit, whatever they want to which results in the other unit NOT taking the patient in a transfer - this IS reality.. This is why some patients fear to speak out and end up being discharged from a unit for non compliance.

I have lived what needlephobic is stating about staff on cell phones and ignoring patients.. It is such as this that infuriates me when providers, at the top, continue to profess that are giving such wonderful care -- they really have NO idea what happens at the unit level, nor do they want do...

Robert, check rrcmaw's intro.  If it's not your name, I'm probably not referring to you, althought I have been known to make a mistake or two in the past.  Sorry I upset you (defensive, much?) :bow; :)

I have asked you all to please be nice to one another in this thread. A member of IHD.com is asking for help and does not need you all sniping at each other about spelling mistakes or how defensive someone may be. Please be nice to one another.

Please accept my apologies -- often I have been called Robyn... therefore, sorry for any  misunderstanding.

Another issue of staff using cell phones, besides not being focused on patient care is that cell phones carry alot of germs and often staff do not wash their hands after using their cell phones.
Document, Document and Document --  One day it might come in handy... what time was staff on cell phone, where were they standing while on phone, did an alarm go off, if so where/whose, etc

WOW talk about causing a uproar lol.
Hey learn how to spell idiot.

Don't know who you are and don't care. So I have a prob with spelling so what. I just came here to vent. So if you are from the former D center looks like I got the last laugh. Yes I am at my new D center coming up on a month now. Can't tell you what a difference  it is compared to the old one. The staff is awesome treats me like a person not a paycheck and oh yeah They welcome me being proactive in my treatment not like the old center. Funny I had to keep keep my New Neph and my transfer under my hat. I already new I was being black balled at the old center. Go figure at the old center The admin told me that my neph wasn't taking on any new patients or any other neph that I tried to get into to see because They are all full of patients BUT Davita has plenty of nephs for me to chose from. Hmmmm sounds like black ball to me. 2 Days after that little talk while I was on D My new neph called me not them and wanted to meet with me. So I didn't say a word to anybody afraid if I did They would call him and screw it all up. We had our appointment learned more from him in a hour and 40 min that I did in 2 years at the old center. My neph told me sometimes the D center you are in will call up the d center you want to go to and tell them all the bad stuff about you and the same with the Nephs. (sounds like black ball to me) He checked me out from head to toe said everything sounds good labs were good keep up the good work. Then told me he would take me on as a new patient because I been through hell and back at the other center and my former Neph dropped the ball. He gave me meds for my RLS told me if I have any probs with anybody or anything at the new center don't hesitate and give him a call.

As for my needle phobia my Neph himself called this Psychologist and set me up a appointment. Not sure about this guy because the last one didn't help me at all. but found out after talking with him. He himself use to be needle phobic I almost fell out of my chair. My neph found me somebody who understands my fear and is willing to help. All this happened so fast I am on top of the world right now. My new Neph wants me to fell confortable in my new center wants me to relax and get my treatment without worry or they will answer to him.  :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo;

My neph went to bhat for me today For a week and a half my blood pressure has fell right before they unhook me. They have been pulling off to much fluids when I am on D. I am under my dry weight do to working out lately. So today had a appointment with my neph he was so concerned with my blood pressure that he called the D center and told them not to remove fluids from me do to that I still pea alot. Durring 2 years of doing D I never had anybody go to bat for me like today . I am so impressed with my neph for doing that makes me feel so happy that my neph cares and that I am not just a paycheck for his account. Can't wait to see what he does for me the next time. :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;
