Title: hospitals should give someone dialysis if they are in the er on a dialysis day
Post by: sullidog on January 28, 2012, 06:48:09 PM
Yes, When I was in the er today I wanted dialysis, but they said no, so now I'm without a treatment until Tuesday. I think that if you are in the er on a dialysis day they should give it to you, I guess dialysis isn't that important to them. I will call my neph on Monday though to see if I can make it up. This hospital I was at didn't even check my potassium levels like my neph's hospital does, the reason I didn't go to that one is because that hospital did not do my fistulagram but this hospital I went to did, my v surgeon does not practice with my neph's hospital.

It is expensive to do dialysis, so ERs often do not do it.

Can you imagine someone from the ER putting the needles in your arm when they haven't been trained to do dialysis?
