I have been trying to get in contact with my doctor for months. He is never available and will not return his voice mails. I miss one freakin treatment today because my ride didn't show up and now he has called me three times and left rude voice mails on my phone. Can I punch him?
-
Yes you can :boxing; When that kind of 'non-compliance' happens to me I usually resolve to just writing a letter to the Dr involved. Now we mainly write, I see a doctor (for D) once a year, suits me fine.
good luck, Cas

I just don't get it. When you call his office have you talked with his nurse? I usually have to go thru my doctors nurse to get answers, she writes down my questions or concerns and relays it to my doctor and usually gets back within a few hours. Maybe you need to go thru the doctors nurse first.
When he called you and left you the first voice mail did you call his office and talk with his nurse that time? Something sounds odd about this whole thing.

The number is to a switch board and none of the options gets me to him.

Yeah I had that 'through nurse/secretary thing' too. I can also email ... to the nurse/secretary. The letters do work though

I'd get a different doctor in a NY minute if I couldn't get hold of mine like that. That's just wrong.
-
It definitely needs sorting out. Can you change Doctors?
-
Yes you can :bandance; , and if you explain 'completely relaxed' why you want to change, than you allready have a head start with the next one. good luck

My mom thinks that my GP's nurse leaves the phone off the hook, cuz when she calls to make an appointment, all she gets is a busy signal. My brother, however, called one day last week, and she answered on the first ring. Maybe she just recognizes my mom's number on the phone and doesn't answer. *LOL*
To her credit, when I have been in the office, the phone rings non stop

Fill a bottle up with urine, walk in and place it on the receptionists desk. If she doesn't like it, punch her on the nose. Or, tip the jug over.

It's funny how doctors can keep you in the waiting room for hours, and yet get upset if you miss an appointment.
