Title: what's your favorite non dairy creamer?
Post by: Riverwhispering on December 25, 2011, 02:46:58 PM
Using the liquid non dairy creamer for making stuff like that warm bread pudding I have no clue what kind to use or what tastes good.

I thought this was for drinking coffee, however, I have even made bread pudding using skim milk. Favorite coffee creamer is the " Italian sweet cream""

for cooking I use Coffee Mate original flavor.  For cereal I use Almond Milk (unsweetened)

I don't like the flavor of flavored coffee creamers so I stick to the plain stuff.

I used the plain Coffee Mate in home made clam chowder once.  It was delicious.

Hmmm. I find there is a lot of added phosphorus in most non-dairy creamers (also higher in K than you'd think!!). I do use powdered Italian Sweet Cream in my coffee, though. I feel like the powdered stuff lasts longer and makes the coffee creamier and you ultimately use less. For cooking I like to use rice milk (unenriched, of course, if I can find it) and I have discovered that Almond Breeze unsweetened Almond Coconut milk is AMAZING in cereal and it is shockingly low in K and Phos. Rice Krispies never tasted so good! I need to try using it in other applications, but it's summer and so so hot so I haven't been cooking as much as I normally do.
