How often does a Doctor visit your Center?
-
It used to be once a week. It is pretty much every other week now.

I remember seeing mine once a month? Just a 30 second...hi, how are you? (no wait time for a response from me) Any problems? (me...umm...well my blood pressure) uh well yeah just keep taking your meds. (me - uuhh okay) :urcrazy;
never in depth idea of what is going on with me or what I could do to get the blood pressure down from 200/99....thank goodness for this site!

On PD, I see mine once a month. Two weeks after they pull labs. The appt usually takes 30 minutes and we go over the lab results and any questions I have.
-
hubbys was weekly but it was a fast 'drive by' unless you were quick enough to bring up football.... then you could spend some time. Now, his regular neph is the incenter and the nxstage dr and we spend 1/2 hour to even an hour if need be. Even when i/we go in thinking i have no questions,, we end up nearly 1/2 hour.

Mine use to be once a week but now it's once a month and he will spend much time as you need. He's a very good neph, one time he was with me and this patient asked him about their labs and he said "This is Troy's time right now."

We have a team of doctors that rotates. The quality of the care varies with each one. There always seems to be a doctor in the center.

I'm in-center. I see my neph once a week usually. Occasionally, he might skip a week and he sends his physician's assistant (but that's rare). It's usually a quick visit; however, if you need him, he will spend as much time as needed with you. You can also mention any issues to the nurse, and he/she will call the doctor if they think its important or if you insist. I'm pretty happy with the amount of time I see him.

I miss that. No one goes over my labs with me at all now, unless there's a problem. I *might* see the doctor now once a month, and it's drive by, similar to rsudock. There's no privacy in the unit, so everybody knows your business. I don't like that at all
