I just got a lot of "Oh Yeah" protein bars. 4% daily req. of phosphorus (40mg?) and 15 mg. potassium. 15 grams of protein. Peanut butter and caramel flavor. Yum. Does anyone else out there have a better protein bar with low phosphorus and low potassium?

isn't peanut butter a no no ?
-
at the center they are giving paul Zone Perfect bars, went to their web site and they are sending me samples and coupons he likes the strawberry and blueberry ones
-
Peanut butter is a no-no, yes, you are right. But the bars contain 4% of the RDA for phosphorous, which would make that about 40 mgs. I have 1,000 mg. per day allowance.
-
Wow, after looking at the bar, I realized they have about a dozen peanuts in them, so they must have more phosphorus than what the label indicates. I guess I'll maiil the rest of the bars to my son at college.
-
If the label is significantly off from the reality, that's not legal. I suspect it's correct or close. I'm never sure though with variety packs if the info is an average of all the kinds that are in the box.

Why is peanut butter a no-no? Don't you just count it like anything else for the day that has phosphorus? I don't exclude every phosphorus containing food from my diet. I take my binders and watch my labs. But I've had a peanut butter sandwich with no problems.

You can have peanut butter, I think it was recommended a half of teaspoon or something, it was on the list my dietition gave me.

They give me Zone Perfect as well.
They only offer three flavors at my Unit: Strawberry yogurt, Fudge Graham and Chocolate Caramel Cluster.
The Caramel one is the only one I actually like.
