Not sure if there is a topic for this already or not but I thought we could all share our lab reports.
I als always update my signature with my labs.
Albumin: 4.5, Hemoglobin: 11.5, Iron SAT: 27, Ferritin: 427, Calcium: 8.4, Phos: 7.7, PTH: 562, Potasium: 4.6, Kt/V: ??? , URR: 57
Date: 10/11/11

That's a good idea. I see your crap numbers are in red...LOL!
-
I just got my numbers for the month today.
Albumin: 3.6; Potassium: 3.4; Calcium: 9.02; Phosphorus: 3.9; PTH: 244.5; Hemoglobin: 11.9.
My last kt/v was 2.1.
I'm doing ok but I can't keep my albumin up even though I try to eat a lot of protein. And I keep forgetting to take my potassium capsules cause I hate them. Yeah, I know, I take potassium supplements. A weird function of my disease.
-
dont know why but i love looking at others #'s so will add hubbys
Heres hubbys
Albumin: 3.6 , Hemoglobin: 8.6 , Iron SAT: 28, Ferritin 214.0, Calcium: 8.3, Phos: 4.5, PTH: 262, Potasium: 3.9, Kt/V:2.45 , URR: 41
Date: 10/3/11
how does one get that albumin up... Always working on that! think we've figured out the hemoglobin drop as well. Infected tooth!! hopfully that will bounce back up!!!
-
Boswife, I like to look at others numbers too, that way I don't feel too bad if my numbers are higher or lower depending on what it is.
From the top of my head
Albumin 3.5 (had the flu so I wasn't eating a lot for 4 days)
Phos 5.8
Hemoglobin went from 12 to 9 to 8.1 (I'm so mad they let it go low) They blame it on the flu I had in the middle of Sept.
Our report card does not include our Iron sat or Ferritin or URR
I think my kt/v was 1.7

Here are my chemistries for October: Albumin 3.9; Hemoglobin 11.3; Iron 65; Calcium 9.5; Phosphorus 5.4; PTH 252; Kt/V 1.85; URR 77 No value for potassium this month--a computer glitch they think. My albumin has been running low since the summer, although I'm following a very high protein regimen and and am taking a liquid protein supplement, as ordered by the dietitian at my center. Boswife and jeanea: the supplement is called ProMod, in case you want to ask about it. Each Tablespoon supplies 10g of protein. Hope this is helpful to you. All the best in your journey.

I had my labs this month but was never told the numbers, just told the labs were great!
3.4 k sounds kind of low to me, maybe they can back off the how many k binders you take?
Here's last months though. phos 6.7, cal 10.2, potassium 4.3, KTV they didn't get for some reason, URR 81 percent, can't remember iron but it was fine, albuman 4.
-
Here's mine:
Hgb: 10.4 - I just restarted my Epo and I'm now doing it subcutaneously instead of IV. It didn't hurt a bit.
Calcium: 8.7
Phosphorus: 3.0
PTH: 257
Potassium: 4.8
Albumin: 4.3
KT/V: 3.78
URR: 89

Soooooo Traveller, can you tell me more about ProMod.. I looked it up but cant find much info. It costs about the same as the LiquaCel that hes currently taking, but your albumin is better ;) so mabie a switch is in order. Thanks for any info ya got. ;D
-
ProMod is made by Abbott Laboratories and comes in quart bottles. For me that's the advantage over LiquiCel, which comes in single serving pouches that give you 15g of protein. If my albumin gets lower in spite of my efforts to bring it up, it's easy to change the dose. (2Tblsp. for 20g, etc.). It's made of beef collagen (Liquicel just says collagen on the package). The flavor is fruit punch, which some people say tastes marginally better than the orange or grape of the other. To me, they both taste bad, but I tell myself it's medicine, and swallow it quickly. I hope this is helpful to you, boswife. It's so important to try to keep albumin in the normal range, since without adequate protein we can't fight off infections. All the best to you and your hubby.

Sullidog, I don't take any K binders. My body/disease is odd and I waste potassium. It's always low and I actually take a K supplement to add it to what I eat. But the capsules are large and after I take my large Renvela and large Benefiber I don't feel like swallowing them. Pathetic I know but true.
-
oops sorry I misread your post.
Oh forgot to add my hg is 13! so no epo for me right now.
The person that had the KTV of 3.78? how is yours that good?

I know I'm a bit late but I just got my labs yesterday:
Albumin: 4.0, Hemoglobin: 11.4, Calcium: 9.9, Phos: 6.6, Potasium: 4.5, Kt/V: 1.65 , URR: 75
Date: 10/6/11
They want me to switch from PhosLo to Renvela - told them that it is unaffordable to me. Unfortunately, the prescription card doesn't play nice with my prescription insurance and Renvela is way too expensive for my budget. And I make too much money to apply for low-income assistance. Grr. Being in the middle sucks.

I know I'm a bit late but I just got my labs yesterday
This was meant to be an ongoing thing so don't worry, there is no such thing as late.
-
Yes :) I'd love to see more. And proMod on it's way. ;)
-
cattlekid - We can't afford it at regular price, either. My bf got a coupon from his doctor that brought the cost of Renvela down to $5. Ask about that. I think it was from the Revnela website.
-
In order to get Renevela for $5, you have to have private insurance. I have Medicare primary and private insurance secondary and I pay $5 a month.
-
The bf has private insurance but it isn't covered.
-
The coupon doesn't really work with my insurance. A 30 day supply is $185 and the coupon is only good for $150. So that brings it to $35 per month, which is very pricey considering that I get 90 days of generic PhosLo for $10 total. I'm waiting until it's a 100% necessity to switch back to Renvela based on my calcium.

Wow, I get Renevela for $1 a bottle with Passport.
:bandance;

:thumbdown; Dang, cattlekid. Sorry to hear that.

I take Renvela and couldn't handle the pill size to my neph got me the powder form. It tastes like sandy lemonade but it's easier to deal with if you have a hard time with "horse pills".

Just got my latest numbers last week:
Potassium 4.8
BUN 95
Kt/v 1.87

Calcium 9.5
Phosphorus 6.1 - upping my phoslo to see if it pulls it down
Hemoglobin 11.7 - up from 8.2, so better
PTH 528
More to come...
