I am currently trying to get Allrecipes.com to list Phosphorus in their "Detailed Nutrition" report of the recipes. So far so good. The request has cleared stage one, who ever answers the emails, and is on to stage two, the developers themselves.
Here is the conversation thus far:
My E-Mail:
I wanted to make a suggestion for the Renal Failure community. Your “Detailed Nutrition” for the recipes is amazing. It lists all of the nutrients we Renal Failure patients absolutely have to keep track of in order to maintain our health. All but one that is, Phosphorus. People with Renal Failure, of any kind, absolutely have to keep track of their phosphorus because it’s very dangerous and potentially deadly to us. That is why I am imploring you to please consider listing this crucial nutrient in your “Detailed Nutrition” listing. It would be an amazing benefit for the Renal community. Very few recipe websites, other than those specifically for renal failure, list the phosphorus in the recipe.
Thank you for taking the time to hear me out,
My name and contact info edited out for this post.

:2thumbsup; That's great! Good for you for making contact! With 300,000 Americans on dialysis (I don't know how many worldwide) it's an important nutritional value to know, and it's not always shown on recipes or food containers.

Truthfully I am a little lazy when it comes to calculating totals for meals and this was just easier than doing it myself.
:shy;
-
:2thumbsup; nice to step up to the plate for us :)

This is fantastic news because I used to use Allrecipes a lot. I would like to add my voice to your efforts, pagan. Can you give us the name and email address for your contact at Allrecipes?? That would be great!
-
Well the email came from CustomerRelations@allrecipes.com and was signed by someone named Lindsey. I wish I could tell you more.
-
I used the link you provided and sent an email of my own. Can't hurt.
-
If your reading this than why not send an email to CustomerRelations@allrecipes.com ATTN Lindsey and ask for them to please add phosphorus to the "Detailed Nutrition" list of information. Please stress that it would be a benefit to the Renal Failure Community.
I think if only a quarter of this forum's member base would do this than we would have amazing traction!
Come on people, you built up an entire community, lets start throwing our weight around!
;D

Done! :2thumbsup;

:thumbup;
Great idea!! I'll send them a note.

This is great! Keep it up! I think we can do this!
-
Thanks, pagandialysis! I've added my voice to yours to get this done.
-
Anyone get any replies?
-
Done. Now wells see what happens.

I got this reply last Tuesday. Apparently they've gotten more than a few requests!
"Thanks so much for your e-mail. Yes, we have indeed received a lot of input from our users regarding this same topic! I have forwarded your comments to our Development team, who is constantly working to improve the site and user experience.
Thanks again,
Lindsey"
