Hey, GG, you'll do GREAT! I found the anticipation was far worse than the surgery itself. Good luck!

Well, it's been six days since my surgery! All is going well, thus far! Working w/my stress ball to get some strength back into my right hand. All in due time, I am sure that will come back!! :thumbup; Spent the first two days w/nausea until the dr was able to finally get me something for it! Only used four pain pills which is really good! i don't like to feel/be loopy if I don't have to!! :) Return to the surgeons office in ten days to have stitches removed, and see what/where we progress from there!! Should I start hunting up and touring the clinics now or should I wait a while yet? Not sure how soon would be to soon, since I just had the surgery. As I know it will take a while for the fistula or grow and mature to use it. Thanks again for the support and wishing everyone a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!!!
:flower;

Hi there and sorry i missed your first posting about this. I surely would have wished you well and tossed in a prayer as well ;D Sooo, it's really good to hear that all is well and my answer to your next question is, yes :) I would go and check out some centers to get a 'feel' for them if you have that option. We didnt do that, and we were very pleased for the year and a half that we were there.... But!!!! i do hear there is differences and how wonderful you have this option available ahead of time to possible sort out some things.
Well, i hope all continues in a smooth path, and that you have lots of time for that new 'friend' of yours to develope and mature. Some have lots of time, and some, like hubby, get to start with the cath :( but all in all, im glad your preparing ahead :)

I had my fistula in for over a year before I started. It was nice to have some time to adjust. (Plus, it took 4 surgery attempts to get one to work, so it's a good thing I started early.) Yes, check out D centers so you have an idea where you want to be.
