Title: Breaking out
Post by: HouseOfDialysis on July 19, 2011, 05:54:25 PM
Anybody ever break out after starting peritoneal dialysis? I've broken out BAD on my back and it looks like it's creeping over my upper chest, too... Odd.

Granted, it's been five months since I started, but that's the only different thing in my life.

When you say "breaking out" what kind of thing  are we talking about? My husband he breaks out in these little white patches, they are all over. We thought they were sun spots, the GP says they are warts, I say they are calcium spots. No one seems to know. The thing is he bloody picks them and it drives me mad.

I just posted something like this a few days ago.  What kind of "rash" do you have?  Mine is red and splotchy and very prominent on my right arm. A little on my left but it seems to be going away. My GP says I have some type of infection somewhere, and I've talked to my nurses and neph. two times this week and they don't think it's from PD.

What kind of solution do you use?  Are you on a cycler...if so... maybe there's something wrong with the solutions????  That would be scary!  Let me know what's up, and DEFINITELY see your GP.

Is it painful like shingles?

I had horrible acne on my back while I was pre-D.  It got a bit better when I went to nxstage, and got worse again when I went back incenter.  I just figured it was a combo of the toxins I was sweating out through my skin, and the plastic chairs I was sweating on during treatment!
