Best of luck, I had open heart in Jan of 08, it really was one of the easier surgeries I have gone through. Little pain. The hardest part for me was not being able to use my arms to help myself get up from a sitting position, but then I am not that strong in the legs. After about 6 weeks I could use my arms for most anything, they just dont want you pushing or pulling.
Your in my thoughts.

Hope it all goes well, murf.

ESDR survivor, did you ave (my computer won't let me type letter 8 of alp abet) and graft as well. They are taking a vein from my leg for surgery. So no arm strength (as you suggest) and leg power.

I did it in 07 at 46 years old. Worst was the chest tube and being cathed. But that was soon over(within 6 hrs of surgery) Listen to the nurses, they know better than you. ;D
p.s. ask them to dialasize you while your out....it was nice to wake up and find i'd had 9 hours of dialysis before thery woke me. :thumbup;
