Title: Pre-dialysis and symptoms (uraemia)
Post by: Shaymon on May 21, 2011, 05:51:28 AM

Hi guys,

This one is really for all the newbies and those approaching the big D. I often asked the Neph how I would feel the nearer I came to ESRF usually withgout a satisfactory answer.
I found this poster (follow the link). Its very basic but gives you an ides on the basic symptoms that you may feel and therefore able to convey to your neph or others how you feel. At least its a starting point.

Things they don't mention - your sweat and often your breath smell like ammonia.  You may have to change how you do laundry - color-safe bleach may be needed on everything to take the smell out of your clothes.

Not only will you not like the taste of animal proteins, you may not want anything but sweets.
