Since I just started this whole D thing, and have only had 1 session, I still pee (and I hope I will for a long, long time too!). But, one thing I notice is, it isn't as foamy and weak looking as it used to be. Does D do that? Or is something else at play here?

I'm betting that is exactly what is going on! :2thumbsup;

Dialysis sucks the protein out of your blood too. That is why you went from a low protein diet to a high protein diet. I think the foam has to do with protein. But, maybe someone else has a better answer. Hope things go well.
Are you with DaVita or the Northwest Renal unit?

I would agree about the protein. Foamy pee is because of the protein in the urine - in fact my old neph used to tell me to let her know whenever I saw froth in my urine. Mine went from frothy to clear as soon as I started D.

It's called "Proteinuria"
What are the signs and symptoms of proteinuria?
Proteinuria has no signs or symptoms in the early stages. Large amounts of protein in the urine may cause it to look foamy in the toilet. Also, because protein has left the body, the blood can no longer soak up enough fluid, so swelling in the hands, feet, abdomen, or face may occur. This swelling is called edema. These are signs of large protein loss and indicate that kidney disease has progressed. Laboratory testing is the only way to find out whether protein is in a person’s urine before extensive kidney damage occurs.

There is a DaVita clinic just a mile away from my home, but I am at the non-profit Puget Sound Kidney Center. DaVita is only open during work hours, and I'd rather go to a non-profit, especially after all I've read here!

ive had the same experience. No more foam. I will agree on this, that dialysis pulls the protein out of you, hence why you are on a high protein diet instead of a low protein diet.
Your urine is now just getting rid of any fluid.
