This might just be me, but can we have a picture, chart, or something on the home page of the forum that shows the conversion factor between US and Metric equivalence to figure out post of BUN Creatinine readings between our countries?

:thumbup; im for it!!

You can find conversion factors http://www.globalrph.com/conv_si.htm (http://www.globalrph.com/conv_si.htm) but I don't really understand how it could work.
Here is what I think is some standard guidance for Creatinine (http://surgery.about.com/od/beforesurgery/qt/BloodChemistry.htm):
Men: 0.2-0.5 mg/dl (USA) 15-40 umol/L (International)
Women: 0.3-0.9mg/dl (USA) 25-70 umol/L (International)
So looking at this example the low end range for guys is either .2 mg/dl (USA) or 15 umol/L (International), which implies a conversion factor of 75 (.2 * 75 = 15)
But the high end implies a conversion factor of 80 (.5 x 80 = 40)
And then the conversion table gives 88.4 as the conversion factor.

I went over to Home Dialysis Central to ask Dr Agar What's the deal with these divergent creatinine measures (http://forums.homedialysis.org/showthread.php/2834-Creatinine-US-vs.-rest-of-the-world?p=21035#post21035) ... wow! the more I look into this stuff the more I realize it is all just people's best guess and every number comes with a margin of error.

Well there has to be something to make a post more understandable for someone in the the US to understand what a reading in a post from New Zealand means as an example. That is what I mean. A 1.2 MG/DL has to mean something to someone in another country not using MG/DL or vise versa in the medical community when physicians across the world collaborate or medical issues.

taken from below, warning: large file url to conversion chart

Closer to what is neeeded, but a number range I think would be more beneficial here.

The following is a reproduction of a Google spreadsheet chart with the blue line and blue numeral in µmole/L and red in mg/dL for the creatinine conversion. The dates on the chart does not represent anything; it is not possible to embed Google chart in this forum.
