As most of you know I've had ongoing problems with my graft. It's about a year old and I've had 9 revisions done on it. Recently I found a new vascular surgeon, mainly because the one I had he and the interventional radiologist kept saying nothing was wrong. The new doctor did a major revision on it, so major they put me asleep do to it being an actual total surgery. He found lots of debris in it from clots to calcium. He cleaned it all out and ballooned some areas and now it's wide open. We just started using it and it's working great, I can actually feel a thrill through the whole graft and I couldn't even do that when it was first put in. The only thing is the venus doesn't have a flash but they said that was normal until it heals more. But it's working great! I still have my catheter and I'm keeping it for a bit longer do to my chronic issues.
*fingers crossed*

Oh, that is spectacular news! I know you've really been through the wars with that thing. How did you find your new surgeon? Boy, having a competent vascular surgeon makes all the difference in the world!

So great to hear when we triumph over doctor's that say, "there's nothing wrong" when it's obvious something is wrong. Great to hear the graft is working better, sullidog!

Good news! :2thumbsup;
You have to wonder about some surgeons.....how do they keep doing what they are doing?

YEA!!! :cheer:

I found him by word of mouth from another patient. He's not afiliated with my group of other doctors so of course he wasn't a recomendation, but I'm glad I found him!

And this surgeon has much less experience then the one I was going to.
-
Sometimes "less experience" just means younger and with more recent training on newer techniques!
-
:2thumbsup; great!!

I definitely agree with Jbeany. And what good is experience if it is wrong kind? :rofl;
