Title: question about switching accesses

I'm going for a second oppinion for a fistula because I have a graft now which is crap. Let's say they say this time I qualify for a fistula, my question is my graft is still being used, let's say if I do wanna change to a fistula if qualified, can I do that? If so will they shutdown my graft or what will they do?
