Hey everyone, just started putting my own needles in last Tue :yahoo; :clap;, It was kinda scary at first, but the tech that taught me was really nice. Now there's 4 people at my center that puts in their own needles, one girl started because she saw me doing it, anyone else stick their own needles at their center? It's soo awesome!!! :yahoo; I think everyone should be trained to do it. It's making me think of doing home dialysis.

Congrats! I am in the process of being taught to stick myself as well! I just started using my fistula, so the process is slow. One thing that I know is you are more in control when you stick yourself.....I just have to mentally get there!

That's a great step to have taken. Not everyone can do their own needles but if you can it removes a lot of the uncertainties around dialysis and can be the best thing for your fistula in the long run. It's not easy but once you get there, there's no going back. :clap;

I went thru the same..... I think you guys are great... you have a very good start to doing home hemo...which is way better for your health and your sanity.... When I went to home hemo training... I had never did the needles.... I am glad that went better than I was expecting.... so I love home hemo and cant ever go back to in-center.... The freedom is wonderful....

Congratulations!! :yahoo; It's a big step to have taken but like everyone says, now that you've done it there's no going back and it's so much better for you in the long run.
