Title: Groin Access
Post by: ChickenLittle56 on October 01, 2010, 07:47:34 PM
I haven't seen a groin access in over 2 years since the last D I was at. I wasn't sure if was a graft or a fistula. I think they are very painful because the 3 patients that had one were always the ones yelling out loudly. One patient was always in tears. I felt so very sorry for them.

We've got a few. Haven't heard a peep out of them.

I've read about groin accesses, and they just sound dreadful.

:o Ouch, I couldn't imagine that though I did have a catheter placed in my groin but they didn't have to access it with needles...

I'm guessing it's a last resort spot for access, when they've run out of other places.  I hope I never ever get to that point
