I can't count on my hands how many times I've gotten up at 5:00 a.m. to go to Dialysis, and got there and they have said "there is something wrong with the water or the machines or the back wash, and we would have to wait for at least and hour and 1/2 to 2 hours for treatment and they would be cut short. The center is falling apart. I'm not sure what to do...I'm sure the manager knows...I've told him along with many other patients. This is something that is vital for our lives, and that time is OUR time. Does anyone else have this problem and where would I go other than management?

Yes, last night I had to wait 2 hours because the test strips for the water was coming back positive for bacteria or something. On one hand I'm ticked that I have to wait but on the other hand they are doing what is right and bleaching the whole system. And my time was cut short because the morning people needed to get on. But what do you do? It has to be done. I'd rather them be honest and fix the airplane than just go ahead and take off and then disaster strikes.
I think it is something I have to live with. Or you could check out another center. I think they all have this problem. Especially ours who run those machines 24-7. They have 4 shifts m-f and 3 shifts on Saturday and 1 shift on Sunday. Of course they are making MONEY every shift, so I don't feel sorry for them.

This happens about once a month for our clinic. They give you 3 options one is to put you on and you decide how long you want your treatment, you can stay the entire treatment if needed. the second is reschedule your treatment and the third is skip it all together. Most of the time I choose to stay the entire time. The only problem is once they unhook you from the machine, they move you to another chair to finish holding your site. They need to have the machine cleaned really quick for the next patient.

Casper2636,
I would complain to the manager of the facility. If you can find other patients who are as upset with these conditions as you are, you should all have a meeting with that manager. Schedule a time when you can all be there.
I've had a couple of meetings with the management of my own facility about problems I noticed. In my experience, managers are often cut off from what's really going on in their own organizations by a bunch of sycophantic subordinates; it helps when someone not in their chain of command clues them in.
