Oh TS, I'm sorry you had to barf. There is nothing worse feeling nasusea. This may sound a little evil lol, but maybe they would have acted if you barfed on them! So if I'm reading this right, your Dr. DID prescribe you something and the unit nurses never delivered? Maybe a call to the doc is an order an let him know. I have some great but kickin' cowboy boots.the kind with the metal tip. If you'd like you know I can head over to that unit for you and you know what lol. I'm sorry you're going through this.

What if you took something like Dramamine an hour before your session?  When I lived in the UK, I took something from Boots...I can't remember the name of it, but the chemist recommended it. It was just a motion sickness med.  Might that help?

While i appreciate your sentiments MM i dont see why i shouldnt get what the doc has prescribed for me. The lazy so and so's would move quick enough if it was B.P. tablets or Binders , but hey its only that awkward bugger in the corner being sick again on dialysis ! More so i need the pain killers , the pain in my head is indescribable and thats what makes me sick. Yes i have had a brain scan ! A few 'abnormalities' but nothing to worry about i was told ! But i dont worry because NO dialysis =No pain !

TS .. im KS,  YOU ARE  TS ..  :rofl; Can i borrow your boots anyway , i just love those with the metal tip , we cant get anything like that over here , well not without paying an absolute fortune for them !

CRUDITY WARNING:

Wow, KS!  You're not just dealing with a lousy nurse; your whole dialysis center sucks!

I agree with Texasstyle: if I asked a bunch of people to please get my anti-sickness medicine and they didn't give it to me, then when I got sick, I would empty my stomach's contents all over the floor, dialysis machines, televisions and anything within my reach. I would apologize profusely for having sullied the whole center, but of course, since they wouldn't get me the medicine that my Dr. ordered, then tough sh**.  I would continue to do this until somebody realizes that I'm serious.  I'm sure that somebody will eventually decide that it's easier to follow the doctor's orders than to have to sanitize the center every time that I come in.

I know: I'm a bad, bad man; however, what you're going through is ridiculous.

You SHOULD get what the doc prescribed for you...no question.  But you've had such an abominable time at your clinic that I don't trust them to give you what the doc prescribed in a timely manner, and instead of you suffering because of their laziness or neglect, I just thought that maybe in the interim you could find something at Boots that might help.  Sorry...didn't mean to offend.

Genlando has it absolutely right. If they dont give you your meds, just   :puke; all over everything and swing your head back and forth while you are doing it. What a bunch of dummys they are. I feel so badly for you.

KS. Instead of waiting for your clinic to give you the meds, can you take the prescription to the pharmacy and get them yourself?

MM   No way did you offend me  :cuddle; I just thought you meant that it would be easier to go buy something over the counter and avoid the hassle.

PAM , no sorry they wont give me the script because one of the meds is IV and has to run all the time im on dialysis. The thing is although we are a very small unit , we are situated in a largish hospital and the pharmacy is only downstairs , so no real excuse for not having the meds on the unit ! In fact one of the meds was on the unit but no one could be bothered to give it me !

Ack, your bluddy unit Kickie.  They need a good wallop with a hard object.  I'm inclined to agree with everybody else; when you next go in (tomorrow?) be sure to throw up all over the place if they haven't got the meds ready.  And DON'T apologise.  Although on second thoughts that may be rather messy ...

*big sigh* < on your behalf.

I am always sick on dialysis. I'm always the one wreching and heaving. I do take Compazine to help, but it dialyizes out of me before the treatment is over. Then, I'm left throwing up at the last half hour of treatment! Dry heaves suck!!!!  My techs keep asking me 'was it something you ate?' I'm like 'NO, IT'S THE DIALYSIS!'. Good luck to you. I'm sending you hugs. :cuddle;
