Title: Bit of a survey. Who has a dry cough since being on D

My husband, for the last 6 months. Dry tickly cough.

Post by: okarol on July 21, 2010, 10:48:53 AM: My hubby is not on dialysis - but he developed the same type of cough from the cholesterol medication he was prescribed. Once we figured that out they changed the med and he's done fine since. Check with the pharmacy to see if he's on anything where a cough is a side effect.

Post by: KICKSTART on July 21, 2010, 03:36:53 PM: Me , me , me . What bp meds is he on ? they are the first culprit. As you know mine has turned out to be COPD . But i do notice a lot of people start to cough in the last hour of dialysis ! The other possibility is fluid ..doesnt have to be overloaded but just some in the lung area can produce the cough.

I was on it before I started dialysis, because it also thins the blood and made it easier for the kidney to filter. Stars with an A. Think they are little red pills

ok, which cholesterol med was it?

Candesartan Cilexetil (BP)

Atorvastatine for Cholesterol)

KS he is not carrying fluid and all the x-rays have come back ok, but it is driving him mad

Post by: billybags on July 22, 2010, 10:20:21 AM: Okarol, thanks for that, he has been on this one for about 8 months. They changed his BP tablet to Candesartan to bring his blood pressure down, which it has, so its like a magic roundabout. Do you jump off or carry on.
