Title: Fistula problem
Post by: murf on June 08, 2010, 03:19:23 AM
Have just found out that my fistula has stopped working. The renal team said it was probably caused by my high HB that has blocked the flow through the fistula. Have to go into hospital straight away. Does anyone know what sort of operation it is and is it just an overnight stay?

It is usually in and out procedure unless there is something else.

I have had all three of the following outcomes:
Sometimes interventional radiology can make quick work of it. Sometimes a surgical revision is required.
Sometimes the fistula can't be fixed.

The experience I had was first day they will take labs, if ok then they would do autrasound, start your IV, and then wait to fix it the next day.
